Due to high demand - vegetable seedlings may be in short supply.
We will try our best to supply the selected variety, however, if stock becomes unavailable we will provide a relevant substitute.
Beetroot is an excellent root vegetable crop that stores for months. It is best grown quickly and responds well to fertiliser. They require well drained, friable soil in a sunny position. ‘Rainbow’ is a novelty mix with sweet, different coloured roots. Harvest these when they are no larger than tennis balls.
- After Harvest: Beets may be ovenroasted, boiled or eaten fresh in salads.
- Position: Full sun.
- Planting: 12-15cm apart.
- Maturity: 8-10 weeks.
